
Renowned Cricket Journalist Haineel Shah who has been actively involved in Mumbai’s grassroot cricket since over a decade added one more feather to his cap as he marked his directorial debut with movie Unsung Heroes of Indian Cricket.

The movie is a unique take on cricket covering all the skilled professionals without whom the game would’nt have been what it is today. It’s a short film documentary highlighting the efforts of all the skilled professionals right from the maalis (groundsman), pitch curators, umpires, scorers, coaches, historians, journalists, reporters, commentators, analysts and many more people.

The Premiere Screening of the Movie was done at DY Patil University on the occasion of Sachin Tendulkar’s 52nd Birthday. The movie was inaugrated by Mr. Pravin Barve (Lifetime Achievement Award Winner by Mumbai Cricket Association) in the presence of Director Mr. Vijay Patil, Rohit Sharma’s Coach Dinesh Lad and many more senior dignitaries.
Haineel who wrote a book in 2018 now has added the tag of being a director at a young age of 32 shared with Bombaynews.in “We often see the glamorous lives of cricketers on tv and social media but in reality cricket is a huge sport, it’s a movie which explains that how many people actually work round the clock to make this a successful sport. Behind each game and each player, there are multiple professionals involved and it covers the efforts of these people through this short documentary. For those who love cricket or for youngsters who follow cricket, this is something which will help them understand the sport better & holistic way”
