
Harpreet Singh Bhatia – a domestic cricket veteran who has also represented India in U19 World Cup gets picked up by none other than Kings XI Punjab for the latest edition of IPL. Harpreet who is currently the captain of Chhattisgarh Senior Team has led from the front for his state not only as a skipper but also as a frontline batsman.
Harpreet who has amassed over almost 2500+ runs in Ranji Trophy in his last two seasons batting at an average of 87.54 always let his bat do the talking. Even in the shorter formats, Harpreet this season scored 516 runs at an average of 86.00 in Vijay Hazare Trophy which included 2 hundreds while he was equally impressive in Syed Mushtaq Ali this season batting at an average of 56.33 in 6 matches. Harpreet this year also achieved one more record to his name of highest number of half centuries (16 fifties) in the history of Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament.
A batsman who has the highest number of half centuries in T20 in India’s Domestic Cricket, how can he be not playing in IPL? How can he be benched for so many years?
Well, as we hardwork always pays off as Kings XI Punjab has finally spotted this talent in Harpreet who got picked up for 40 lakhs and now will make a much deserved comeback into IPL almost after a decade.
